A partygate video which has shocked the nation and has been seen by millions of people, many of who will know someone who badly suffered or died during the pandemic.
In response, Michael Gove apologised for the Partygate video that shows Tory officials dancing and laughing as they broke Covid lockdown rules, deeming their actions “terrible” and “indefensible”.
The video, obtained by the Mirror, shows members of staff drinking alcohol at the gathering in London on 14 December 2020.
It does make one wonder why and how the video has leaked, who does it benefit or damage?
Partygate video
In the sickening video the Tory wonks were heard mocking lockdowm rules, that everyone else was following.
There are over 20 people at the party, including London Mayor failure Shaun Bailey.
Bailey has just been handed a peer by Boris Johnson.
However, he doesn’t appear in the video as he had left the event by this time.
But the party at Tory HQ was organised by the campaign team for Shaun Bailey, who was running for London mayor at the time, and was awarded a peerage in Mr Johnson’s resignation honours list last week.
In the video, two people appear to dance past a sign saying “Please keep your distance” before colliding with a table full of buffet food. In the background, someone can be heard saying: “As long as we don’t stream that we’re like, bending the rules.”
Jack Smith and Malin Bogue
The pair seen twirling and dancing in the video, and at one point, even knocking over wine glasses as they spiralled into a table filled with food, are reportedly Jack Smith and Malin Bogue.
The two were seen dancing in front of a sign that said: “Please keep your distance.”
Gove, the levelling up secretary, told Sky News’s Sophy Ridge on Sunday show: “The fact that this party went ahead is indefensible,” but insisted it would not be right for him to say whether the Metropolitan police should reopen their investigation into this lockdown-breaking event.
He said: “It’s terrible. I think it’s completely out of order. As I understand it, this was an event that was organised by the people who were running the mayoral campaign for Shaun Bailey. They had obviously behaved in a way which is unacceptable.”
Punishment?
It seems that there will be none and there was none at the time, as per this tweet.
Ben Mallet, who was awarded an OBE in Boris Johnson’s resignation honours list, was pictured at the party wearing festive braces and a navy blue tie, will be keeping it.
Femi is NOT happy about it as a lot of the nation will agree with him.
Edwin Hayward: “Look whose name featured prominently on the “Jingle and Mingle” party invitation that was captured on the leaked Partygate video.”
