In her capacity as home secretary, Suella Braverman was accountable for “a really significant infringement” of the ministerial code, according to Conservative MP Jake Berry, who served in Liz Truss’s cabinet alongside Suella Braverman. She was consequently compelled to quit, but Rishi Sunak has since reappointed her to the position.
Berry asserted that he thought Braverman provided secret cybersecurity material to another MP using a personal email address while attempting to copy in the MP’s wife but unintentionally sent it to a member of the parliamentary staff. He said Simon Case, the UK’s top civil servant, had been consulted and had confirmed that Braverman had infringed the law.
