Comedian Stephen Fry has been interviewed on BBC Radio 4 and made comments on the NHS that might well chime with you.
The clip is already going viral and you will hear why.
He said: “We have to keep showing how we love our NHS, so that it will continue to be with us through it all.”
NHS plan
Fry’s comments come as Rishi Sunak’s NHS plan comes under fire as unions hit out and 150,000 jobs go unfilled, reports The Mirror.
Rachel Harrison, national secretary of the GMB union, said: “Obviously recruitment is important for the future but what about patients and workers who are suffering now? There is no credible plan for retention or addressing the existing NHS staffing black hole.
“Without something to entice staff to stay, including addressing pay, and with nothing to help the social care bottleneck, this plan is doomed to fail.”
Also, Health secretary Steve Barclay has been branded “arrogant” after he accused junior doctors of “suddenly” walking away from talks over pay and conditions.
MCC
As the Ashes cricket controversy has kicked off it is worth noting Aan MCC member has been suspended after making “factually incorrect” accusations against current President Stephen Fry.
MCC chiefs disputed his account of the dinner, with chief executive Guy Lavender describing his complaint as “factually incorrect.”
Chris Waterman, 75, claimed the 65-year-old, during a speech at an event, had opened up his address by saying: “I had intended to say ‘Good evening, ladies and gentlemen’ but there are no lady members present. I suppose they are off s***ging’.”
Waterman had also accused Fry of being derisory about an amateur club called the Allahakbarries. In his complaint, he accused him of joking that the term “Allahu akbar” was tradtionally followed by a “loud bang.”
