Gary Lineker has come under a lot of abuse for comments he made about the Just Stop Oil protestors at Wimbledon.
However, Home Secretary Suella Braverman condemned Just Stop Oil’s “unacceptable” protests after play was halted on Court 18 for a second time on Wednesday.
Ms Braverman denounced the demonstrators’ “selfish” behaviour, saying: “The protesters at Wimbledon were determined to ruin the day’s play for spectators and sports fans across the world.
“We will be uncompromisingly tough on the selfish protesters intent on spoiling our world-class sporting occasions this summer.”
Wimbledon Gary Lineker
The former football star has been slammed as a ‘hypocrite in the highest order’ for defending Just Stop Oil eco-clowns who disrupted two matches at Wimbledon this week.
The comments that has angered so many people, was that the protestors were ‘not going to hurt anyone’ and that he understood ‘where they’re coming from’.
As you can see TalkTV presenter Mike Graham wasn’t happy with Mr Lineker.
Graham said: “He’s basically encouraging these people to disrupt the shows he presents. What a complete and utter idiot!”

Is this a fair point?
Alan Simpson tweeted: “Where is the Telegraph indignation about Home Office officials who paint over ‘welcome’ murals in child asylum centres? Where are its demands for prosecution? If promoting hatred os ok, but saving the planet is not, we’re doomed.”
Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton has said he would support a peaceful protest by the Just Stop Oil group at this weekend’s British Grand Prix.
He said: “But safety is key. We don’t want to put them in harm’s way and we don’t want to put anyone else in harm’s way. If there was to be one [a protest] we hope it is not on track.”
