A Twitter employee resigns in the best way possible. It comes as Elon Musk is coming under pressure from ‘Threads’ a competitor that seems to be taking away his users in their droves.
It not all over yet for Elon as Twitter has won the support of a big name backer against fast-growing rival Threads…the Taliban, reports Sky News.
A leader of the hardline Islamist group said Elon Musk’s platform was a tolerant place that allowed freedom of speech to thrive.
“Other platforms cannot replace it,” he said of Twitter, citing its commitment to “freedom of speech” and its “public nature and credibility”.
“Twitter doesn’t have an intolerant policy like Meta,” he added.
What is threads?
Here’s everything you need to know about the app that some people are already calling the ‘Twitter killer’.
Threads is a text-based conversation app that, according to Meta, is designed to be a space “where communities come together to discuss everything from the topics you care about today to what’ll be trending tomorrow. Whatever it is you’re interested in, you can follow and connect directly with your favourite creators and others who love the same things — or build a loyal following of your own to share your ideas, opinions and creativity with the world.”
Twitter employee resigns
So to return to the Twitter resignation. The person in question shared pictures of a cake on social media, writing on Twitter that “when you don’t know how to say goodbye, use cake” and adding the hashtag “#LoveWhereYouWorked” popularised by sacked Twitter staff laid off when Elon Musk took over and took an axe to the workforce.
On LinkedIn, she added: “It’s impossible for me to express the gratitude I feel towards my experience at Twitter. The highs and lows have formed some of my greatest work and greatest friendships.
“Twitter pushed me (for better or worse) to be every ounce of myself and to believe in myself. On to [sic] the next chapter.”
