An Arch Brexiter, Richard Tice made Brexit comments that were called out by the Twitter fact checkers over comments he made during a Twitter spat.
It began with anti-Brexit campaigner Femi who tweeted:
Nobody can deny that Brexit has killed people because:
1️⃣ The Top medical charity (Nuffield) says Brexit has been damaging the NHS since pre-pandemic.
2️⃣ Ex-Health Secretary said it took away from pandemic preparation.
3️⃣ £40bn lost tax revenue & we know austerity is lethal.
Richard Tice Brexit
Richard Tice then replied with: “Nobody can deny that Femi is getting ever more desperate to be relevant when he starts claiming Brexit killed people It literally did the opposite, with the earlier vaccination rollout….”
Then his comment was fact checked and this was added to his tweet: “Brexit had no impact positive or negative on the Covid vaccine rollout in the UK. There was noting in EU law that would have prevented the UK proceeding as it did had it still been a member.”
Femi then wrote: “Richard Tice just got FACT-CHECKED by Twitter when he tried to take me on!!!”
Bregret
The proportion of Britons who say Brexit was a mistake hit a new record high this month, a survey from pollsters YouGov showed on Tuesday.
With few economic benefits to show for the June 2016 vote to leave the European Union, 57% of Britons said the decision to leave the European Union in 2016 was the wrong one, compared with 32% who thought it was correct, reports Reuters.
Labour Brexit
Although some of his frontbench team advocate a closer relationship with the European Union, Starmer has vowed not to take Britain back into either the single market or a customs union.
