Chris Packham has slammed Nigel Farage in a viral tweet, and you might well agree with Chris?
It comes as the row about Farage’s banking affairs is STILL dragging on.
Coutts
Coutts bank has now hit back and said it does not close customer accounts “solely on the basis of legally held political and personal views” as it comes under heavy criticism for terminating its relationship with Nigel Farage, reports Sky News.
a Coutts spokesperson acknowledged the “substantial interest” in the Farage case but said it could not comment in detail because of customer confidentiality obligations.
However, they stressed “it is not Coutts’ policy to close customer accounts solely on the basis of legally held political and personal views”.
“Decisions to close an account are not taken lightly and involve a number of factors including commercial viability, reputational considerations, and legal and regulatory requirements,” they said.
Packham Farage
Like many other people, environmentalist Chris Packham has commented on the row, and you might well agree with him?
Packham tweeted: “Can @BBCNews please explain why it still gives valuable news-space to Nigel Farage ? According to @Wikipedia he is a former this and that and currently only a ‘broadcaster’ on GB News . Frankly I don’t care if @Tesco withdraw his clubcard let alone some vanity spat about his money.”
He followed that up with: “As I understand it the bank is a private bank . It thus has its own independent values and choices . If I owned a private sweet shop and Farage came in and wanted a packet of Polo’s I wouldn’t serve him – my values , my choice . I’d politely tell him to go to @Tesco or @Barclays.”
SNP Member of Parliament for Ochil & South Perthshire simply tweeted: ‘spot on.’
