The is a record number of people waiting for NHS treatment.
7.6million people were waiting for treatment in June.
It is the highest number since records began in August 2007.
Rosena Allin-Khan, the shadow minister for mental health, said the government was failing to tackle the seemingly never ending crisis in the NHS.
She said: “Rishi Sunak has no plan to turn this around, he only offers excuses. He blames hard-working doctors and nurses, yet he hasn’t lifted a finger to stop the strikes.”

In response, NHS Million tweeted: “Every single time the Conservatives come to power they increase the size of NHS waiting lists. Right now there are a record 7.5 million real people who are suffering due to political choices. It cannot be allowed to continue.”
Sunak absent
Labour’s Shadow health secretary Wes Streeting said: “It’s unforgivable that the prime minister is completely absent, failing to show any leadership whatsoever.
“The most important thing Rishi Sunak could be doing right now is to get doctors round the table and negotiate an end to those strikes, and if he can’t achieve it then at least call in ACAS, get an independent arbitrator, because the longer the strikes go on the longer people wait.”

Carol tweeted: “Hospital waiting list tops 7.5 million in England. Tories in charge for 13 years, deliberately depleting our NHS so it’s one of the last things they can finally sell off completely, for the benefit of the rich and many of their donors.”
