RIP Michael Parkinson is the sentiment of many people in the UK, and abroad, as the legendary broadcaster has sadly passed away.

He died at the age of 88.
Parkinson’s TV career covered seven decades, and he interviewed the world’s biggest stars on his long-running chat show. His chats to Billy Connolly and Muhammed Ali are known throughout the wolrld.

Family statement
A statement from Sir Michael’s family said: “After a brief illness Sir Michael Parkinson passed away peacefully at home last night in the company of his family.”
Sir David Attenborough led the tributes, saying the host “always wanted the interviewee to shine”.
Striking workers
The Trades Union Congress (TUC) shared a clip of an interview with Parkinson and actor Kenneth Williams.
Williams attacked workers for taking industrial action, and Parkinson’s response, was epic.
