It wouldn’t be A-level results day without Jeremy Clarkson’s tweet (sorry X). Then the PM Rishi Sunak backs Jeremy Clarkson and a collective cringe floats over the nation.
Today the number of pupils accepted onto UK degree courses has fallen 2.6% on the same point last year, UCAS figures show.
It is first worth noting Clarkson’s family success enabled Jeremy attend fee paying schools Hill House School, Doncaster, and later Repton School.
Braverman
Before we get to Clarkson the parody Rishi Sunak account wrote: “Please don’t worry if you don’t get the A level results you were hoping for. Suella Braverman is proof that you can still achieve high office even if you have the brains of a haddock.”
Rishi Sunak backs Jeremy Clarkson
Here he goes, as he does every year, and he wrote: “It’s not the end of the world if your A level results aren’t what you’d hoped for. I got a C and 2 Us and here I am today with my own brewery.”
Rishi Sunak, well his account, decided to jump on the message and responded with: “Jeremy has made a career of being the exception not the rule but he does have a good point here: Results day is important, but not necessarily a deal-breaker. Whatever results you got today, there are lots of options available to you.”
