It was confirmed that Frozen 3 is in pre-production. It won’t shock many after the mega success of the first two films.
Frozen 3 release date
The release date for Frozen 3 has not been announced yet, which will frustrate fans of the films.
However, based on the production timeline of Frozen 2 it would be 2027. We know it seems a long way off, for the kids and the kids instead you!
Many of the cast are expected to return for Frozen 3, though what awaits in the next chapter for Elsa and Anna is a closely guarded secret, reports Screenrant.
Frozen 3Â was confirmed by Disney CEO Bob Iger himself in the Disney Q1 earnings call.
Alongside the next Frozen sequel, Iger also revealed that Toy Story and Zootopia would be getting the sequel treatment.Â
“Today Iâm so pleased to announce that we have sequels in the works from our animation studios to some of our most popular franchises, Toy Story, Frozen, and Zootopia. Weâll have more to share about these productions soon, but this is a great example of how weâre leaning into our unrivaled brands and franchises.”Â
Mr Iger made these comments in February 2023.
Cast
There has been no official announcement, but as most of the main voices returned for the second film, one assumes that Frozen 3 will see most, if not all of the characters from the first two films.
Director
Frozen 3 will not have original director Jennifer Lee at the helm, who co-directed the first two movies with Chris Buck. Disney is seeking a new director to take over.
Podcast
A new podcast is being developed by Disney Publishing in conjunction with ABC Audio and Walt Disney Animation Studios. The story is set following the events of FrozenÂ
According to GMA, the first season is called Forces of Nature and will consist of 12 episodes and see Anna and Elsa discover copper machines in the Enchanted Forest which are disrupting peace in the kingdom.
The podcast series is set to arrive in October and will be available to stream on all podcast platforms.
Frozen first two films – spoilers alert
Frozen (2013): The first film follows the story of two royal sisters, Elsa and Anna of Arendelle. Elsa possesses magical ice powers, which she struggles to control. After accidentally revealing her powers to the public, Elsa flees to the mountains, inadvertently plunging Arendelle into eternal winter. Anna embarks on a journey to find her sister and bring back summer. The film is celebrated for its memorable songs, including “Let It Go,” and its themes of love, self-discovery, and sisterhood.
Frozen II (2019): The sequel continues the story as Elsa and Anna, along with Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven, embark on a quest to discover the origins of Elsa’s powers and the history of their kingdom. The film delves deeper into the characters’ pasts and explores themes of change, self-identity, and the connection to nature. “Frozen II” features new songs and expands the magical world established in the first film.
