The RSPB have slammed the government. The charity did not back in their anger at the ‘lying’ Tories, now the RSPB climbdown has begun.

Now the boss of the RSPB has apologised.
Chief executive Beccy Speight said the charity had been “frustrated” with plans to scrap water protection restrictions for housing developments.
However, now she said the “framing” of the post was “incorrect and inappropriate”.
One of the charity’s trustees Ben Caldecott had publicly criticised the posts saying it was “simply not an appropriate contribution to our public discourse from such an important and highly respected organisation”.
“We can strongly disagree and make our case without calling people ‘LIARS!'” he said.

They shared this message on X and wrote: “LIARS! @RishiSunak @michaelgove @theresecoffey you said you wouldn’t weaken environmental protections. And yet that’s just what you are doing. You lie, and you lie, and you lie again. And we’ve had enough.
On the thread they added: “Yesterday your Government announced the first reversal in environmental legislation for decades.”
Then they added: “And all the while you have pretended to be a Government that cares about nature. It’s now very patently clear that you do not.”
Feargal Sharkey tweeted: “Well that didn’t take long. For one brief glorious exploding moment it looked like the environment lobby had found some leadership. Apparently not.”
