Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 is coming after the very unexpected success of the first film.
The Winnie the Pooh series is primarily known for its wholesome and family-friendly content centered around the adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore, and other beloved characters in the Hundred Acre Wood.
But no more!
Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey followed Pooh and Piglet as they massacred anyone who crossed their path during their merciless hunt for Christopher Robin â the young lad from the original stories, you probably read as a kid.
The sequel was fast tracked leading to a gory and bombastic sequel in the works.
It features a chainsaw-wielding Pooh Bear…what a world we live in!
Winnie the Pooh Blood and Honey 2
Blood and Honey 2 will begin filming this autumn and aims for a February 2024 release, but that date could change.
The film a significantly higher budget than its predecessor.
New killer?!
While most of the original cast won’t return, for obvious reasons, Winnie the Pooh and possibly Piglet will be back
Tigger could make his debut as a vicious killer!
Director Rhys Frake-Waterfield said: “In the sequel, Winnie the Pooh will have a chainsaw. I’m going to introduce that. I’m going to make that happen.”Â
First film
It seems a lot of people watched it, but critics were not as keen.
Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey scored a one-star review from NMEâs James Mottram earlier this year.
Mottram wrote: âDressed in dungarees and a lumberjack shirt, Pooh looks nothing like how youâll remember him from the Disney cartoons (as the Mouse House still hold the copyright to those). True, itâs a clever loophole the director has exploited, but thatâs as far as it goes. Blood And Honey is a sticky mess of a movie.â
