Iron Claw history
It is a professional wrestling manoeuvre and not the name of a specific wrestler or wrestling character.
The move is a submission hold or a move where a wrestler applies pressure to their opponent’s head or face using their hand, typically with fingers extended and bent, creating a claw-like grip. The objective is to inflict pain or pressure on the opponent’s face, head, or neck to force them to submit or weaken them during a match.
Various wrestlers have used the Iron Claw as part of their moveset over the years, and it has been a popular submission hold in professional wrestling. Some wrestlers who were known for using the Iron Claw include Fritz Von Erich and his sons, particularly Kerry Von Erich.
Fritz Von Erich was a legendary wrestler who popularised the move, and his sons carried on the tradition in promotions like World Class Championship Wrestling.
