As we all know Dirty Dancing is a popular romantic drama dance film released in 1987.
It was an 80s classic and quite rightly.
The film received critical acclaim and became a massive commercial success.
It has since gained a cult following and remains a beloved classic known for its themes of love, dance, and breaking social barriers.

The movie was directed by Emile Ardolino and written by Eleanor Bergstein. It stars Patrick Swayze as Johnny Castle, Jennifer Grey as Frances “Baby” Houseman, and Jerry Orbach as Dr. Jake Houseman.
Dirty Dancing 2 all we know
The film is coming and it will be directed by Jonathan Levine and will be set in the 1990s, reported Deadline.
The music will range from songs from the original to ‘90s Hip-Hop.
In December 2022, Jennifer Grey told Extra that the film will see her reprise her role as Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman, and that she’ll be “quite a few years older.”
“You will see other characters that are from the original,” she added.
Filmmaker Jonathan Levine said: “The most important thing for us was having Jennifer on board.”
He added. “She is an invaluable collaborator. We’re going to try to involve as many people from the original as is appropriate. We want to be respectful in every way.”
In June 2022, Lionsgate announced that a sequel will be released on February 9, 2024.
However, in 2023, it was reported that due to the Hollywood writers’ strikes, the film had been delayed until the summer of 2025.
Dirty Dancing plot – Spoilers alert
The film is set in the summer of 1963 and follows the story of Frances “Baby” Houseman, a young woman who vacations with her family at a resort in the Catskill Mountains. There, she becomes infatuated with Johnny Castle, the resort’s charismatic dance instructor. Baby soon becomes Johnny’s dance partner and, over the course of the summer, they develop a passionate romantic relationship, all set against the backdrop of dance and music.
“Dirty Dancing” is known for its iconic dance sequences, particularly the final dance number, and its memorable soundtrack featuring songs like “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes, “Hungry Eyes” by Eric Carmen, and “She’s Like the Wind” by Patrick Swayze himself.
