Nadine Dorries makes sense and people are shocked. Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, so they say.
Nadine Dorries makes sense
Dorries wrote on X: “The saddest take away from #ConservativeConference is that it’s dominated by individuals using it as a platform to promote their own ambition as potential future leaders and nothing about the state the country and the party is in. It’s a total, utter, chaotic mess – not helped by Rishi spending all day yesterday pretending he hadn’t made a decision aboutHS2, instead telling us all how wonderful and hard working he is, like it’s all about him – the PM nobody voted for.
“I’m guessing right now that many Conservative Party members feel profoundly ashamed.”
Then she stuck the knife into Rishi Sunak adding: “At the root of the problem is the breakdown in the democratic process which was once the framework within which the party operated.
“As a result of Rishi’s behaviour, the manner in which he was imposed upon the party and the country and the manifestation of his disloyalty when he was chancellor has given every MP a right to behave in exactly the same way. If it was good enough for Rishi to breakdown every barrier of loyalty and decency and to wipe away the pretence of being in politics to serve the greater good, the public and not self, it’s good enough for them.
“He is reaping what he sowed.”
