Release date
The BioShock movie’s release date is expected to arrive by late 2025.
‘The Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence set to try his luck at avoiding the typical video game movie pitfalls,’ reported Collider.
He also said: “Well, Michael Green, who wrote Blade Runner 2049, among other things, and who’s been a friend of mine for years, he’s writing it, and he’s in the middle of writing it right now. We already have our take, outline, and all that kind of stuff, so that’s all done. He’s now just actually writing. That’s why I said it’s a real possibility of [it] being what’s next.”
Bioshock video game series
Bioshock is a popular first-person shooter video game series known for its immersive storytelling, atmospheric settings, and thought-provoking themes. The series is developed by various game studios, with the first two games developed by Irrational Games (later known as 2K Boston and 2K Australia), and the third game by Irrational Games’ successor, Hangar 13.
Here’s an overview of the main games in the series:
BioShock (2007): The original game is set in the underwater city of Rapture, a failed utopian experiment. Players take on the role of Jack, who stumbles upon the city and becomes entangled in its dark and morally complex narrative. The game features a mix of traditional weapons and genetically modified “Plasmids” that grant special abilities. It is known for its art deco design, eerie atmosphere, and philosophical themes.
BioShock 2 (2010): In this sequel, players assume the role of a Big Daddy, one of the iconic characters from the first game. The story takes place in Rapture once more, but this time, players experience the world through the eyes of a Big Daddy and delve deeper into the lore of the city.
BioShock Infinite (2013): This game takes a departure from Rapture and is set in the floating city of Columbia. Players control Booker DeWitt as he attempts to rescue Elizabeth, a young woman with mysterious powers, from the city. The game explores themes of American exceptionalism, racism, and quantum physics while maintaining the series’ signature gameplay elements.
