It seems Nadine Dorries and Google don’t mix after she has had a cheeky Google search of her name.
Nadine Dorries Google
In response to her shocking revelations, Nadine wrote an opinion piece titled: ‘I Googled my name, and learnt all about Big Tech!’ The next few hundred words were quite the read.
Sunak
It comes as Rishi Sunak agreed that the Labour MP replacing Nadine Dorries will probably like him more than she did!
Nadine Dorries Google
Returning to the artilce in the Daily Mail she wrote…
“I’d long been aware that when you search for news related to politics on Google, it is predominantly Left-wing publications that top the list of results.
“I asked someone to explain this to me, and their answer was enlightening.
‘Imagine that in Silicon Valley, they have these big dials,’ I was told. ‘They can turn them up and turn them down at will in order to determine what content has priority when searched.
‘”In doing so, the liberals who populate Silicon Valley can control what people see and read, and ultimately can influence what they think. By feeding you Left-wing content when you search, which you then click on, the algorithms learn what you are reading and keep feeding you more of the same, whether you search for it or not.’
I”n other words, algorithms nudge opinion ever leftwards by ensuring the content people read online is Left-leaning. So far, so alarming — and then I experienced the reality.”
Big dials
Adam Bienkov wrote: “Nadine Dorries, who until last year was in charge of digital regulation in the UK, says tech executives have “big dials” which they deliberately use to “nudge opinion ever leftwards” and suggests this was somehow hidden from her when she met them.”
James Murphy Content lEAd at TAN Media wrote on LinkedIn: “This is apparently the reason “left-leaning publications” rise to the top, not that there are few positive stories, not that she resigned and then squatted in her seat, not that she didn’t turn up to parliament for an entire year, and definitely not that she didn’t realise how Channel 4 was funded while attempting to privatise it!”
