I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! has sparked controversy with its choice of former UKIP leader Nigel Farage as one of this year’s campmates.
Comedian Jason Manford is among the many stars expressing discontent with the decision, vowing to boycott the show for the second consecutive year.
The 42-year-old comedian refrained from watching the ITV series last year due to the inclusion of former Health Secretary Matt Hancock, who ultimately secured third place. Taking to X, the social media platform previously known as Twitter, Jason conveyed his disappointment with the broadcaster’s selection of another polarizing political figure this year.
Sharing his sentiments with his 459,200 followers, Jason expressed, “Gutted to have to miss another series of I’m a Celeb! Hancock last year & Farage this year, it’s a hard nope!” He deliberately starred out the politicians’ names to avoid drawing further attention to them. Regretfully, he added, “Shame cos there’s some lovely and charming other contestants going in.”
Jason isn’t alone in his disapproval of the casting decision; actress Kathy Burke recently took a swipe at ITV bosses on X as well.
