Senior Tory Laura Trott is shown a graphic after claiming that inflation is now down and the economy is looking up, and it is quite something.
Laura Trott
Laura Trott told Sky News how much people’s taxes are being reduced by after Jeremy Hunt’s autumn statement.
Bu there was a fly in the ointment, when Sky News presenter Trevor Phillips had a graph which suggested otherwise
He put it up on the big screen and the look on the senior Tories face was something to behold.
Trevor Phillips: said: “But you’re not bringing the tax burden down… we’re now at the highest tax burden since 1948, that’s before I was born…”

UK household food bill
It comes as British households’ food bills have been driven up by more than £600 over the past two years by the global climate emergency and soaring energy prices, reports The Guardian.
Tom Lancaster, land analyst at ECIU, said: “Climate change is playing havoc with global food production, and this is inevitably feeding through to higher prices at the tills. Across 2022 and 2023, the climate emergency alone added the equivalent of six weekly shops to the average household food bill.”
