However, after shooting Ace Venture 2: When Nature Calls in 1995, Carrey vowed to stop creating sequels to his movies for a very long time, later declaring:
“I find sequels are a product of capitalism for the most part. At least the two I’ve played were characters I enjoyed playing, but at that time I almost felt like I was repeating myself.”
