Paramount+’s Grease prequel series is well on its way.
Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, which will make its debut in April, recounts the history of the all-girl group that fans came to know and love in the well-known 1978 musical.
With one character linking the two musical comedies, the prequel takes place four years before the events of Grease, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.
The girls are cautioned against doing anything that would damage their impeccable reputation by Rydell Assistant Principal McGee in the trailer.
Since McGee, who is portrayed by Eve Arden in the film, is an assistant principal, viewers can see how, by the time Danny and Sandy arrive at Rydell, she has been promoted to the role of principal.
But the ten-episode series from creator Annabel Oakes will mainly revolve around the titular Pink Ladies, the outspoken group made famous by Stockard Channing as Rizzo and Didi Conn as Frenchy in the movie.
Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies will start streaming on Paramount+ in the US from April 6. In the UK, the series will be available from April 7.
