Nadhim Zahawi is under a LOT of pressure at the moment over his tax affairs, and now Adrian Edmondson has chipped in!
It comes as on the Today programme this morning David Gauke, a former justice secretary, criticised Zahawi.
He said it was “hard to see how this doesn’t ultimately end in [Zahawi’s] resignation”.
Gauke also said: “What we now know is that what Nadhim Zahawi was saying in the summer is very hard, if not impossible, to reconcile with the information that he has paid a penalty in respect of his [tax] arrangements …
“It appears that he was threatening to sue people for libel for essentially telling the truth, for essentially setting out analysis of what happened that seems to stand up to reality.”
Today, Rishi Sunak defended his decision to launch an ethics inquiry into Nadhim Zahawi rather than sacking him, at PMQs.
Sir Keir Starmer said the PM was “hopelessly weak” for not firing the minister for “seeking to avoid tax”.
“Is he starting to wonder if this job is just too big for him?” asked the Labour leader.
Adrian Edmonson
Now legendary comedian Adrian Edmondson decided to use his cheeky joke, to poke fun at Zahawi.
He wrote: “66 today. Officially a pensioner. Have seen no pension money yet. Wondering if Nadhim has ‘carelessly’ transferred it to his own bank account…”
