In The Princess Diaries, Anne Hathaway plays the shy American girl Mia Thermopolis, who discovers she is the heir to the kingdom of a tiny European nation. Mia must choose whether she wants to accept the title of princess that she inherited or fully reject it, with the help and oversight of her estranged grandmother (Julie Andrews) and Genovia’s queen.

Due to the film still being in the early development stages, unfortunately, the cast has not yet been announced. This means we still don’t know whether the original characters will make an appearance.
We are aware that Anne Hathaway will play the same part again. For all fans, this is wonderful news.
We don’t have a specific release date for the third movie yet because the announcement of it is still rather recent.
Since Disney approved The Princess Diaries 3 in November, Hathaway has provided the first update in a new interview with People.
Hathaway gave some explanation as to why the movie was taking so long to make, saying that the creative process requires time and urging viewers to be patient since they will be able to see when the movie begins to take off.
“We feel the exact same, and I know it’s probably very frustrating. It’s a process that requires patience, and so everybody should consider themselves a part of the movie business now, because this is how long it actually takes to make things.”
For the time being, we can only express our total delight that it is happening, so we guess we’ll simply have to wait expectantly for future developments!
