Saturday Night Live opened this week’s show with “a replay” of the unprecedented Oval Office meeting between Donald Trump, JD Vance and Volodymyr Zelensky.
Comedian Mike Myers crashed Saturday’s (1 March) cold open as Elon Musk, appearing in the sketch that reimagined the now-infamous Oval Office meeting.
The sketch shows a recreation of Donald Trump’s now-infamous meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy last week, in which the president and vice-president JD Vance called the Ukrainian leader “ungrateful” and “disrespectful”.
Mike Myers, portraying Elon Musk, was seen crashing the meeting, jumping in the air, making a series of cringe-inducing jokes, and shouting “legalise comedy”.
In a reenactment of Friday’s White House meeting that SNL described as going “really, really well,” Trump, played by James Austin Johnson, introduced himself as the “CEO of Gaza hotel,” referring to the real president’s plans to make the war-torn region a “Riviera of the Middle East.”
Musk’s reaction
One person wrote: “I can’t imagine the kind of person who finds this funny.”
Musk then replied to the post, writing: “Humor fails when it lies.”

Another wag replied: “I want you to legalise comedy, unless it is about me, then it is just not acceptable.” One described Musk as “the most cringe human to ever exist”.
