The ad comes as a recent poll reveals that 69% of Brits think Musk’s involvement in UK politics is unacceptable. Meanwhile, Tesla sales in Europe have taken a nosedive, nearly halving at the start of 2025. Many blame the backlash on Musk’s controversial salute at Donald Trump’s inauguration.
A spokesperson for Everyone Hates Elon didn’t hold back:
“Elon Musk has all the money in the world – but he can’t buy popularity. The British public hates his guts, and polling shows we don’t want him interfering in our politics anymore. We thought we’d communicate that to him in a way only British people could – by calling him a bellend.”
This isn’t the group’s first dig at Musk. They recently went viral for a parody Tesla ‘swasticar’ ad, also placed at a London bus stop. They also put up an ad mocking Tesla’s share price on the London Underground.

Now, they’ve taken things a step further. The group has launched “Elon Musk is a bellend” t-shirts, with all profits going towards what they describe as “small actions to piss Elon Musk off.”
Safe to say, Musk isn’t winning many fans in the UK right now.
