JD Vance is becoming a constant punchline and he was at it again on X.
It comes after UK MPs reacted with fury after JD Vance appeared to describe a proposed Anglo-French peace deployment to Ukraine as “20,000 troops from some random country that has not fought a war in 30 or 40 years”.
James Cartlidge, the shadow defence secretary, said: “Britain and France came to their [the US’s] aid, deploying thousands of personnel to Afghanistan, including my own brother and numerous parliamentary colleagues, past and present. It’s deeply disrespectful to ignore such service and sacrifice.”
However, Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch – who’s said she knows Vance well – has accepted his explanation.
She said: “I think that should be the end of the matter,” she said, dismissing it as “people quibbling over what someone did not say on Twitter”.
“Let’s focus on helping Ukraine.”
Latest mishap
Anyway, back to his latest mishap. It began when an X account under the username “jeff computers,” wrote: ‘for all the tough talk these people are wildly, insanely soft.”
It was in response to a story in the New York Post about Vance’s family being moved after protestors turned up where he was enjoying a family holiday.
JD Vance clearly has nothing better to do as he took time out of his day to reply, writing: “These people are such idiots. We had a great time during our weekend in Vermont. We barely noticed the protesters and almost everyone we met was kind and generous. And Vermont is beautiful. This headline about being moved to an “undisclosed location” is that we moved our hotel so the kids could have more privacy. We didn’t disclose it because the secret service doesn’t like when we advertise my location.”
He then added: “A real man would force the secret service to post his kids’ weekend address on the internet,” said Jeff Computers, a very smart and well-adjusted human being.”
