Two cafes in Ukraine named after Donald Trump have ripped down their signs in fury at the US President, reports The Sun.
The owner of Trump Coffee Bar and Trump Pizza Station, both in central Kyiv, ordered the name be scratched off in response to Trump’s apparent abandonment of the war-torn country.
It comes as US President Donald Trump has suggested Ukraine “may not survive” the war against Russia even if American support continued.
Today, Zelenskyy will visit Saudi Arabia for a meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, while Ukrainian diplomatic and military representatives will meet with a US delegation on Tuesday.
The US paused military aid and the sharing of intelligence with Ukraine this month after a disastrous meeting between Mr Trump and Mr Zelenskyy on 28 February.
Fiona Hill, former senior director for European and Russian affairs on the U.S. National Security Council, said: “I think we can see the impact. It’s certainly, on the one hand, emboldened Russia to really step up the attacks. And it’s also not just blindsided, but also partially blinded Ukraine.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, and Moscow currently controls about 20% of Ukrainian territory.
