Suella Braverman was interviewed on GB News by Economics and Business Editor Liam Halligan.
She spoke out about a range of issues, including the European Court of Human Rights, Brexit negotiations and illegal immigration.
In a new viral video by Peter Stefanovic he points out why this interview should ‘terrify the country.’
He pulled Braverman up on a lot of points, but his main fury was at her intention to leave the European Convention of Human Rights.
If we did leave we would join Russia and Belarus in the council of Europe outside of the ECHR.
Not a group you want to be associated with.
Asylum hotels
Suella Braverman also said people protesting at migrants being housed in hotels are not “racist or bigoted”.
Braverman told GB News that tensions over migrants staying in hotels is “understandable”.
Anti-migrant protesters have gathered in recent weeks outside hotels, where they have clashed with counter-demonstrators.
Some 15 people were arrested after violence erupted during a demonstration outside the Suites Hotel in Knowsley, Merseyside.
Video
Peter shared the video and wrote: “Tonight’s GB news interview with the Home Secretary should terrify the country.”
Ahmed Shaheed a professor of International Human Rights Law added: “The UK played such a crucial role in the formulation of the ECHR—in making human rights real in the European setting. And suddenly, those values are no longer “British values”!!!!”
