The Blade movie is back on schedule, which is nice to hear, according to individuals close to the project. The project was previously, in the words of our source, “a hot mess.”
We now know that Marvel‘s next Blade film will probably be moved into the sixth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This comes after the film has had numerous behind-the-scenes issues.
Due to “creative issues” with Marvel Studios’ upper management, Bassam Tariq departed the production and the film lost its intended director. Yann Demange was then chosen by Marvel. It appears that hiring Demange to direct the picture was a very wise choice on Marvel’s part.
Mahershala Ali, star of Moonlight and Greenbook fame, is set to play the new Blade. Ali is a critically acclaimed actor who has won multiple Oscars and has been recognized as one of the industry’s most talented performers. Fans are already excited about the promise that Ali brings to the role, and are anticipating him to bring a level of depth and complexity to the iconic vampire hunter character.
The Blade movie is rumored to delve into some darker themes than previous Marvel films, with hints of horror elements thrown in. Fans can expect a more adult take compared to other Marvel films, exploring the depth and darkness of characters and the stakes they face. Such a distinct approach may open up a new genre frontier for Marvel, and Blade might be an excellent entry point for exploring mystical and supernatural themes in Marvel movies.
Marvel has a proven track record of delivering great films, and fans anticipate nothing less from the upcoming Blade movie. With Ali’s powerful acting, a new story, and a different cinematic style from what fans have seen in the past, fans await an exciting new era for fan-favorite Blade.
The Fantastic Four movie is slated for release on February 14th, 2025, so it seems as though the MCU’s Blade movie will be released after that date.
