Gary Lineker has got his job back after the main TV sports presenters bascially went on strike in support of him.
As you can see below director general Tim Davie’s position looks in peril, but Carol Voderman has her eyes on another top BBC man.
Davie
Now all BBC staff have received an email from the director general Tim Davie in the last hour about the resolution that’s just been announced.
“I want to acknowledge how challenging the last few days have been and to say how grateful I am for all your work during this weekend’s disruption.”
Tim Davie was speaking to the BBC this morning, where he said that asking Gary Lineker step aside last week was the “right thing” to do.
Now a Downing Street spokesperson has declined to say whether the prime minister Rishi Sunak has confidence in Tim Davie, as he said that the choice of director general belongs to the BBC.
“I’m simply pointing to the fact that he’s appointed by the BBC and it’s a matter for them,” the spokesman sais.
Voderman’s man?
Tim Davie is in hot water, but Carol Voderman is after another top BBC man. She wants BBC Board Director Robbie Gibb out!
She tweeted: “I’m calling for the RESIGNATION of the BBC Board Director Robbie Gibb, former Tory Comms boss & co-founder of right wing GB NEWS, on grounds of lack of impartiality…quotes from 2020 @BylineTimes.”
Then followed up with: “More ROBBIE GIBB, the biased and utterly partial BBC Board Director liking tweets from Tory MPs about SNP. GIBB SHOULD RESIGN.”
Then signposted her followers where to make a complaint against BBC.
