It was budget day yesterday but already Jeremy Hunt’s plans have been given the thumbs down.
It seems we are facing a “disastrous decade” for living standards and high taxes following Hunt’s Budget, claims leading economic think tank, the Resolution Foundation.
“Britain’s economy remains stuck in a deep funk – with people supported into work but getting poorer, and paying more tax but seeing public services cut,” the report said, much to Hunt’s disapproval one assumes.
The UK is forecast to have gone through “the biggest energy and inflation shock since the 1970s, while avoiding a recession, with unemployment peaking at just 4.4%”, the report also said.
Also they claim axes as a share of GDP were on track to hit 37.7% by the end of the forecast, a 70-year-high and a 4.7% increase since 2019-20
This works out at an extra £4,200 for each housefoled
Fun times ahead then….
Labour’s fault?
He appeared to blame Labour, a party that has not been in power for a LONG TIME, for issues in the economy before praising successive Conservative chancellors for what he randomly then claimed was a good economy, we don’t get it either?
