On Wednesday hundreds of thousands of workers, including London Underground drivers, went on strike in what is believed to be the biggest walkout since the current wave of industrial action began.
It coems as talks between teachers’ unions and the government have begun today as the National Education Union confirms no further strike dates in England will be announced for two weeks.
The talks are expected to continue over the weekend.

German TV
Thursday was the last of a series of strike dates announced across England.
But was it a German TV channel that really showed the scale of the protests?
ZDF London tweeted the aerial footage and it looks huge.
But did other UK outlets show the same video people have wondered? The budget was on at the time and that does take up a lot of the news cycle, but could, or ore importantly should it have been reported on in more detail?
The Mail seemed more concerned on the disruption rather the the action writing yesterday: “Rail commuters were left furious today as train services across Britain were crippled by a national strike on top of a second day of disruption from the Tube walkout.
“Passengers tweeted that rail workers ‘really are pushing the public’s patience’ and said the strikes are ‘going to be the death of me’ as they struggled to get to work.
Central Bylines posed the question: “The @bbc says it is impartial, yet the most common question on this Tweet that now has over 1 million impressions is why @BBCNews didn’t cover this and German TV via @ZDFlondon did.”
Tobi Frenzen wrote: “It took German news media to see these images… Let’s make sure that – as a result of this deliberate domestic suppression – more people end up seeing it than would have been the case if our UK media had simply done their job and reported it!”
While another Twitter user claimed that: “This aerial footage was from German TV and shows how huge the protest by doctors, civil servants, teachers, university workers and many more was. Yet the @BBCNews had nothing… blatant Government interference evident yet again!”
