Boris Johnson is due to give evidence to the Commons privileges committee from 2pm today, which could go on for a number of hours.
The hearing is in the Grimond Room in Portcullis House opposite Big Ben.
Mogg
Already, before he has spoken a word he supporters are trying to rubbish the investigation.
Jacob Rees-Mogg said that the Privileges committee ‘make kangaroo courts look respectable.’
He said: “think [the committee] makes kangaroo courts look respectable.
“I think Harriet Harman’s position is absurd … that after Chris Bryant recused himself, quite rightly, she should not possibly have taken on the role when she’d expressed her view clearly beforehand.
“Whatever happens in the privileges committee, he will win in the court of public opinion.”
Giles Coren
Times writer Giles Coren was on the radio saying that ‘we all broke the rules,’ during the Covid lockdowns.
