The Lord of the Rings previously had an enormous cinematic comeback with The Rings of Power, and it’s now doing the same in big cinema too.
Future Lord of the Rings films will be released since Warner Bros and Middle-earth Enterprises have a contract for new films to begin production in February 2023. The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim will come first, though.
The anime prequel film’s 2024 theatrical release was officially confirmed last year after it was first reported in June 2021. Philippa Boyens, a co-writer of the first trilogy but not Peter Jackson, has provided advice on the next film.
What’s The Plot?
The movie is set to explore the as-yet-untold story of the Helm’s Deep fortress, following the life of the legendary King of Rohan Helm Hammerhand.
Helm and his people are forced to make a brave last stand in the fortress of Hornburg (later known as Helm’s Deep) after ruthless Dunlending Lord Wulf, hellbent on vengeance over his father’s death, launches a surprise attack.
Leading the resistance against Wulf is Helm’s daughter Hera.
Release Date
The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim will be out in cinemas on April 12, 2024.
