Who does the Daily Mail hate the most? European laws has got to be up there, right?
Well, the Daily Mail’s parent group have used some European law to their advantage.
The newspapers parent company has successfully invoked the Human Rights Act to stop other media outlets naming its journalists in respect to a phone hacking court case, reports The Guardian.
Prince Harry is one of a group bringing cases alleging widespread illegal behaviour by reporters at Associated Newspapers.
Harry flew in especially for the pre-trial hearing, taking notes at the back of the courtroom.
73 journalists
In their claims they name 73 journalists and editorial executives who have worked at the Daily Mail and its sister titles over several decades who they claim have been guilty of wrong-doing.
Lawyers working for the Daily Mail said publishing the names would breach the journalists’ right to a fair trial under the Human Rights Act.
On social media the calls of irony has not gone unnoticed, as the paper groups campaigns against the European-derived legislation on a very regular basis.
