Paul O’Grady died unexpectedly but peacefully on Tuesday evening aged 67, his husband announced.

The star was famous for playing comedy character Lily Savage.

However, it was a viral video of O’Grady’s rant about Tory austerity that got people talking…

Hate Tories

But how much did Paul really dislike the Conservative Party?

Labour MP Chris Bryant joked that the late Paul O’Grady ‘absolutely passionately hated Tories’ during a new interview celebrating the entertainer’s life.

“I didn’t say this in the chamber yesterday because I wanted everyone to support it”, he told Kay Burley on Sky News.

He referenced the clip of O’Grady tearing into George Osborne’s austerity cuts.

“‘Why do let them trample us down?'”, the MP re-enacted of the moment.
