The X-Files might be back on our screens, and it will be epic, we are sure of that.
The original show’s creator Chris Carter hinted that Black Panther film franchise director Ryan Coogler is hoping to remake the show, with an updated cast and more diverse characters.
The original sci-fi drama starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson and was a huge global hit.
The series focused on the pair as they investigated “X-Files,” which were unsolved cases featuring paranormal phenomena. In total, the series ran for 11 seasons and aired 218 episodes.
The show was nominated for a total of 62 Emmy Awards, winning 16 of them.
A huge legacy to follow on from?
Remount
During an interview with On The Coast With Gloria Macarenko, Carter revealed a “remount” The X-Files.
Carter said he spoke to Coogler about the project and is intrigued to see where he could take a new version of the show.
“I just spoke to a young man…Ryan Coogler…who is going to remount The X-Files with a diverse cast,” Carter said. “So he’s got his work cut out for him, because we covered so much territory.”

Coogler is best known for writing and directing the two “Black Panther” films for Marvel as well as for his work on the three “Creed” films with Michael B. Jordan.
Coogler also wrote and directed t “Fruitvale Station,” which also starred Jordan.
His producer credits include “Judas and the Black Messiah” and “Space Jam: A New Legacy.”
