At todays Prime Ministers Questions, Liz Truss faced many question from Labour on fracking and the economy, which drew a few apologies from the PM on their economic record.
John Baron, a Conservative MP for Basildon, encouraged the PM to maintain the link between benefits and inflation.
“We are compassionate Conservatives,” she replied, and says that they will continue to work to protect the vulnerable.
The ‘compassionate’ line draws laughter and jeers from the opposition.
It has also drew quite the reaction from lawyer and activist, Peter Stefanovic, who called the claim ‘absolute bollocks’.
You can watch his response below:
2 million adults in the UK can’t afford to eat every day. Millions more are struggling to put food on the table. Meanwhile Truss thinks uncapping bonuses for millionaire bankers is a terrific idea whilst labeling workers refusing to accept crappy real terms pay cuts “militant” https://t.co/GSCcFnud5S
