Rishi Sunak loves Silicon Valley, many people wonder why he isn’t working at some start up on £35 million a year minimum.
Why he remains in the UK to get slammed every day is a head scratcher.
Back in 2021, he told Sifted that he wanted the public sector to adopt something of the startup mindset. “We want to move quickly, be highly consumer-orientated and do things that scale with impact,” Sunak said. “We want to do things that are technology-centric as that’s how people are living their lives. So hopefully we can have that ‘startup Treasury’ mindset.”
Unicorn Kingdom
Anyway, in an article by TechCrunch last month they were VERY positive about the UK’s tech industry, they wrote: “Leading the charge in building world-class companies across artificial intelligence (AI), fintech and biotech with a global outlook, the U.K. has earned the moniker of “Unicorn Kingdom.”‘.
Yes you read that right ‘Unicorn Kingdom.”
Over to our esteemed PM and he told an audience that “We just launched a campaign in Silicon Valley just talking about our companies and what they are doing.. The campaign is called Unicorn Kingdom.”
