Todays PMQs featured the Tories NEWEST Deputy PM in Oliver Dowden and Angela Rayner who has been Starmer’s number two for a while now.
“It’s a pleasure to welcome yet another deputy prime minister to the dispatch box, the third deputy I’ve faced in three years,” Rayner began, to laughter. “And you know what they say? The third time’s a charm.”
Rayner also said: “While his party is preparing for opposition with their Trump tribute act conference over the road, Labour have focused on fixing the real problems facing British people.”
“The reality is, after 13 years of Tory rule, they’re still lurching from crisis to crisis, and wallowing in their own mess. They can’t solve the crisis because they are the crisis.”
Dowden did hit back saying on occasion, referring to Starmer and Rayner’s relationship he said: “It’s all lovey-dovey on the surface, they turn it on for the cameras, but as soon as they’re off it’s a different story. They’re at each other’s throats. They’re the Phil and Holly of British politics.”
Viral video
Now in another barnstorming film Peter Stefanovic has pulled apart Dowden’s PMQs performance, which was is first, and possibly his last/ You never know with the Tories these days!
However, before we even get to that Labour MP Rachel Hopkins called out Oliver Dowden for saying crime had halved under Tory rule.
Returning to Peter, he shared the video and wrote: “We’ve got kids eating out of bins, GP’s prescribing nutritional drinks to starving patients & the deputy Prime Minister says at #PMQs “he’s proud of his party’s record!” I’ve added some actual FACTS to his boll**** today on everything from Brexit to poverty to 40 new hospitals.”
