Steve Bray, the anti-Brexit campaigner, is someone you have likely seen and heard in the background on TV news stories in Parliament square.
Now he has declared is not going anywhere, despite the government plans to move him on using an archaic law.
The government is seeking to use so-called Henry VIII powers to allow police to quash protests where a “cumulative” effect can be shown to be having a “more than minor” impact on people’s daily lives.
Bray, 53, from Port Talbot, could potentially face arrest if he breached the terms set by police.
Steve’s take on this, and a lot of the government’s actions, can be summed up in his tweet: “We’ve let this country become a cesspit, haven’t we?”
We doubt Dominic Rabb will miss him as Rabb quits as an MP!
Steve Bray and 30p Lee Anderson are not mates, to put it lightly!
Steve Bray Going nowhere?
Steve retweeted a Guardian article about him and wrote: ‘The more that they clamp down, take away our rights and our freedoms the more we should all fight back.’
“I won’t be put off for a minute,” he said. “We have a right to protest, a basic human right. To take that away is to lead us down the path of fascism and that is not what the United Kingdom is about. The Tory government is constantly chipping away at our rights. And since leaving the European Union it seems to have given them a free rein.”
