The Premier League champions Manchester City have announced an eye-watering revenue for the last financial year.
Man City report record revenues
The treble winners recorded £712.8million in revenue and charted an £80.4m profit for the last financial year.
Salaries jumped up to a record high at £422.8m paid across 520 employees, reports The Daily Mail.
Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: ‘In the aftermath of the Champions League win in Turkey, the question I was asked most often, was “How do you top that?”
‘The answer is by doubling down on the proven philosophies and practices that have brought us this success and to challenge ourselves to continue to constantly innovate in order to achieve new levels of performance both on and off the field.’
Hoddle
This morning Glenn Hoddle told TalkSport that City are the best side, not only in club, but the international game, but warned one player is essential to their current success.
Rodri
“Rodri is a magnificent player. He is the deepest midfield player but he is the one who makes them tick. And you think about would you try and man mark anyone? Maybe not further up the pitch but if you stopped him, I’m thinking…”
“What Pep [Guardiola] has done is he has challenged every coach in the country and at the moment, I mean Mauricio [Pochettino] has come up with something but they are challenging people to come up with ideas to cause them a problem. Maybe you do stop Rodri. If you stop Rodri, 50% [of City’s threat is broken down]. The problem is, they have players who can all play.”
“Even the ‘keeper [Ederson Moraes]! The problem is, you have to look at the percentage, are they going to hurt you as much as Rodri? But he is a very, very important cog”, he concluded.
