At Leavesden Studios, pre-production for the second season of the popular HBO series House of the Dragon, starring Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, and Olivia Cooke, has finally begun.
Although there have been some casting rumours, we haven’t yet heard anything significant regarding Cregan Stark, Daeron Targaryen, or Alys Rivers.
According to rumours, the second season of House of the Dragon is now looking for blonde twins between the ages of 3 and 4 with shoulder-length hair for a few days of filming between April and June 2023.
There can be no doubt that the blonde youngsters between the ages of 3 and 4 will portray Targaryen children the most obviously. Which of the Targaryen children?
The famed and eagerly anticipated Blood and Cheese scene, in which we will meet Helaena’s children, is the best illustration of a moment that would need Targaryen children. Jaehaerys and Jaehaera, identical twins, and Maelor, their younger brother.
Jaehaerys and Jaehaera were 6 years old in the books when Blood and Cheese occurred, however when we last saw them in House of the Dragon’s “The Green Council” episode, they were a little bit younger. Therefore, the 3–4 age restriction seems to work well in this situation.
Of course, there are other possibilities for this casting, but upon hearing the conditions, Blood and Cheese is the first thing that easily comes to mind.
In a previous interview with Variety, Sara Hess, the writer and producer of House of the Dragon, hinted at the Blood and Cheese plot line by adding, “I don’t think you will be disappointed.”
