It comes as a horror version of Mary has a little lamb has a terrifying trailer.
However, Discussing Film wrote on X: “A live-action ‘CASPER THE FRIENDLY GHOST’ series is in the works at Peacock. The series will be a darker take that reimagines the origin of Casper in a coming-of-age story that explores what it means to be alive.”

Casper original film – Spoilers alert
Casper is a 1995 family fantasy-comedy film directed by Brad Silberling.
Casper is based on the popular cartoon character Casper the Friendly Ghost, created by Seymour Reit and Joe Oriolo. The film stars Bill Pullman as Dr. James Harvey, a ghost therapist, and Christina Ricci as Kat Harvey, his daughter. The titular character, Casper, is a friendly ghost who befriends Kat.
The story revolves around the Harveys moving into an old, haunted mansion known as Whipstaff Manor, where Dr. Harvey’s job is to rid the place of ghosts. Instead, he and Kat encounter Casper and his unruly trio of ghostly uncles, known as the Ghostly Trio (Stretch, Stinkie, and Fatso). The film combines humor, heartwarming moments, and special effects to tell the story of friendship and acceptance.
The film was notable for its use of early CGI technology to bring the ghosts to life and for its family-friendly, nostalgic appeal. It was well-received by audiences and remains a beloved classic in the realm of family-friendly films.
