Marvel Studios has released the highly anticipated trailer for Captain America: Brave New World, which premiered at Brazil’s first-ever D23 fan event. The preview offers a glimpse of Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, taking on the iconic mantle of Captain America amidst growing national chaos.
First Look at Red Hulk and a New Captain America
Set to premiere on 14 February 2025, the two-and-a-half-minute trailer unveils a fresh look at Harrison Ford’s portrayal of U.S. President Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, who undergoes a transformation into the Red Hulk – a formidable adversary for Wilson’s Captain America.
Anthony Mackie and Danny Ramirez, who returns as Joaquin Torres (the new Falcon), attended the event to greet fans and celebrate the trailer’s debut.
Plot Hints at Global Threat and High Stakes
In Captain America: Brave New World, Wilson is thrust into an international crisis following a meeting with President Ross. According to the film’s synopsis, “Wilson must uncover the truth behind a sinister global plot before the mastermind has the world seeing red.”
The film also stars Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, and Tim Blake Nelson. Directed by Julius Onah and produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, it also lists Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth as executive producers.
Part of Marvel’s Expanding Phase Five
This new trailer arrives as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues its Phase Five rollout. Upcoming releases include the film Thunderbolts and the series Daredevil: Born Again, joining recent titles like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Marvels, and Deadpool & Wolverine.
Phase Five also brings shows like Secret Invasion, Loki Season 2, What If…? Season 2, Echo, Agatha All Along, plus new projects Eyes of Wakanda, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and Ironheart.
