Adam Sandler has revealed that Eminem will make an “insane” and “funny as hell” cameo in Happy Gilmore 2, the long-awaited sequel to his 1996 comedy classic. Yes, you read that right—Slim Shady is hitting the green, and apparently, it’s going to be hilarious.
Eminem Hits the Fairway (Sort Of)
Speaking on The Dan Patrick Show, Sandler teased fans with details about Eminem’s involvement:
“Eminem was cool. He came by, he was great. I’ve known Eminem for a long time—he’s a great guy, and he came in and was funny as hell.”
Sandler added: “We just hung out with Eminem for a day, and he shot and shot. He said a million things we can use and another million that we’re just glad we have on tape.”
While Sandler didn’t spill the beans on exactly what Eminem’s role entails, it sounds like the rapper’s improvisation skills will deliver a comedic hole-in-one.
From Rap Battles to Golf Courses
This isn’t Eminem’s first foray into acting. He famously starred in the semi-biographical 8 Mile and made appearances in Funny People, Entourage, and The Interview. He’s even turned down roles in films like Elysium and Jumper. Clearly, he’s selective—but Happy Gilmore 2 was just too good to pass up.
A Star-Studded Sequel
Eminem isn’t the only big name in the sequel. Sandler has enlisted Bad Bunny, NFL star Travis Kelce, and Margaret Qualley to join the cast. Qualley recently admitted her husband, Jack Antonoff, exaggerated her golfing skills to land her the role:
“Jack told Sandler I was good at golf. I’ve never golfed a day in my life—I’m terrible,” she laughed. “But this is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I can die happy now.”
What’s Happy Gilmore 2 About?
While plot details are under wraps, fans can expect more of Sandler’s Happy Gilmore chaos. The original film saw a hockey player with anger issues discover a talent for golf and take on the snobby Shooter McGavin to save his grandmother’s house. Iconic moments included Bob Barker landing a punch and Sandler redefining what it means to “drive” on the golf course.
Tee Time: TBD
Though there’s no release date yet, the buzz around Happy Gilmore 2 is already strong. If Eminem’s cameo is half as entertaining as Sandler promises, it looks like we’re in for another comedy classic. Let’s just hope Shooter McGavin is ready for whatever the Grinch of rap brings to the golf course.
