Social media users have shared screenshots from Google showing Swift’s name alongside Emma Stone, who will reprise her role as Cruella, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste. Although Disney has not confirmed Swift’s involvement, many fans hope she’ll play a villain in the film, with some saying she was even spotted in the first Cruella movie.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, user @Tiktokonclock1 posted, “When you search the cast of ‘Cruella 2,’ Taylor Swift appears as part of it, according to Google. There’s been a long-standing rumour that she’d play a villain.” Another fan, @Swiftie_crazier, wrote, “I saw a post on IG about Taylor Swift being in Cruella 2 and thought it was fake—checked on Google, and it’s true! I’m excited but nervous since acting isn’t her main thing.”

While many fans are excited, some remain sceptical. One user, @TSwiftEdits_13, expressed doubt, noting that past Google listings, like the tracklist for Swift’s Midnights album, have turned out to be false. Others remain hopeful, pointing out that Swift’s photo was spotted in the original Cruella.

Little has been confirmed about the upcoming sequel. Director Craig Gillespie is set to return, and Emma Stone will reprise her role as the iconic villain. Stone hinted at the project’s development in an interview with Variety, saying, “It’s a work-in-progress. Hopefully sooner, rather than later.”
