Following on from the huge cinematic buzz that the ‘Barbenheimer’ craze kicked off, another weird mash-up is on its way…Saw Patrol.
The excitement of the two films has led to Warner Bros. film Barbie on way to the billion dollar mark, as the Greta Gerwig movie is still pulling in the punters, reports Deadline.
Barbie took in in $162m (£125m) in the US and a total of $337m (£261m) globally over its opening weekend.
Oppenheimer
Oppenheimer, meanwhile, took less over its opening weekend – $80.5m (£62m) in the US and $174.2m (£135m) globally – but has still been hailed as a hit.
The film follows the life of nuclear scientist J Robert Oppenheimer (played by Cillian Murphy), often described as the “Father of the Atomic Bomb”.
Saw Patrol
But forget all that, what is coming up now?
Now, eagle-eyed cinema fans has discovered that Saw X and PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie will also be sharing a release on September 29.
Discussing film tweeted: “‘SAW X’ and ‘PAW PATROL: THE MIGHTY MOVIE’ will now release on the same day. Which will you be watching?”
Not everyone is convinced this double bill will come off though, as one Redditor wrote, “The thing that worked about Barbenheimer was that they were two movies with massively different styles and both looked really good. With this, one is a tired horror franchise, and the other [is] an animation for toddlers… nobody [has] a reason to watch these two together outside of irony.”
