Tom Hardy, the star of Venom, confirmed pre-production on the third Venom movie in an Instagram post on February 22. Hardy shared a deleted clip from the first movie, which came out almost five years ago, to commemorate the event.
While working on V3 pre-production, Hardy tweeted, “@lelping @sonypictures @sony @venommovie this throwback came up.” @lelping is Kelly Marcel, who wrote the screenplays for all three Venom films and directed Venom 3 as her first job in the industry.
The date of Venom 3’s release is unknown. Despite the fact that pre-production has started, the film still needs to go through extensive principle photography and post-production, which is when the VFX work gets Venom’s eyes as milky as they possibly can. While 2024 is unlikely, 2025 is a more plausible release date.
It’s no secret that a third Venom is in the works. Producer Amy Pascal announced there would be a third Venom movie in December 2021, following the release of Venom: Let There Be Carnage and during the marketing campaign for Spider-Man: No Way Home. At CinemaCon in April 2022, Sony teased Venom 3 but would not provide any other details.
